Before

  • Ask neighbours who lived through December 2021 where the water reached.
  • Documents, electronics and stock on high shelves, permanently.
  • Decide now where the car goes: a multi-storey car park on higher ground.

During

  • Watch river levels on Public Info Banjir. Leave early; leaving late is how people get trapped.
  • Switch the mains off at the DB box before water comes in.
  • Never walk or drive through moving water. 15 cm can knock you over; 60 cm can float a car. Your Myvi is not a boat.

After

  • No power back on until an electrician checks the wiring.
  • Floodwater mud is sewage. Boots, gloves, and wash everything.
  • Watch for fever after cleanup: leptospirosis spreads through rat urine in floodwater. See a doctor and mention the flood.
